The Department of History, Holy Cross College launched its journey in July, 2018. It has been trying to promote historical studies and research activities. The department is regularly engaged in serious academic exercises like invited lectures, seminars, showing documentaries and films, educational trips etc. The department prepares the students to attain academic excellence so as to pave their future career prospects. Empowerment of the students is our vision and often steps related to these are adopted to strengthen both their academic and personal base. Field visits are conducted for students on a regular basis. The faculty members are involved in research activities. A number of peer reviewed research articles have been penned by the faculty members. Above all, the faculty members are always ready to render all possible assistance and guidance to students within and outside the campus as and when required.
B.A. in History Honors. The B.A. in History Honors is a three-year, full-time course divided into three parts, consisting of six Semesters. The course aims to provide a systematic introduction to History in general as well as historical studies in India. It lays emphasis on the theoretical and methodological functions of history.
